Gareth Gates: Right from the Start

Over four million fans voted for Gareth Gates in the final of "Pop Idol" and in this illustrated autobiography he takes us back to his childhood in Bradford. He reveals how he has suffered from a stammer since he could talk but has refused to let this hamper his ambitions to be a musician. He recalls the steps he has taken to overcome his speech difficulties in order to chase his dream and how he feels now that he has made such an achievement. He discusses the excitement of the build up to "Pop Idol", his pride at having a No 1 hit with his debut single and his thoughts on his first album. The book features many new studio portraits of Gareth, as well as images from his schooldays and his early family life.

Sian Solanas recently wrote the No 1 bestselling book 'Pop Idol' and lives in London.
