Since graduating from the University of Wisconsin's School of Journalism, more than 2000 of James F. Scheer's articles and columns have appeared in more than 105 magazines worldwide. Aside from writing for Redbook, Good Housekeeping, Cosmopolitan, Better Homes & Gardens and a half dozen health/nutrition magazines, he has served as editor of three nutrition/health magazines, including Let's Live, now topping 1.7 million in circulation. Twenty-two of his books, mainly in nutrition and health, have been published including Solved: The Riddle of Illness (with Stephen Langer, MD), The Best of Health, Foods That Heal, The Magic of Chia, and the Pocket Guide to Natural Health. One of his seven books in areas other than nutrition/health served as the basis for Hollywood producer David Wolper's 60-minute documentary, The Race for Space, which was nominated for an Academy Award, and later, voted the winner in its category at the San Francisco International Film Festival.
Montreal-born Lynn Allison started out writing self-help articles for local newspapers and hosting a local cable TV interview show which led to the Canadian Broadcasting System offering her the hostess position on a national TV talk show. Concurrently, she was writing alternative health and nutrition articles for Globe Communications. An offer to join Vision Cable in Tampa, Florida, induced her to move to the USA. When Globe hired her full-time writing at its headquarters in Boca Raton, she and her husband moved there. She also writes a weekly food column for area newspapers and more than 30 of her books have been published, among them Natural Stress Busters for the Whole Family, The Doctor's Quick Weight Loss Diet, Low Impact Aerobics, Brand Name Fast Food Calorie Counter, and Spice Up Your Holiday Meals.
