Quarto, 111, wraps, tables, appendix, index, burn mark & sm holes pp. 77-87 (minor loss of text), covers quite stained & some edge wear. Stamp of "Montgomery County Council of Defense" on front cover and p. 101, red paint spattered on rear cover, slip stating "Property of Montgomery County Defense Council" pasted on rear cover, small tear at spine, some red paint on fore-edge, top and bottom corners of volume slightly bent. Also contains a separate chart on "Chemical Warfare Agents" (revised 1941), and an announcement of classes for auxiliary police (1942). This book was a manual for instructors, used to train firemen, auxiliary firemen, and civilian groups. There is one short chapter on pyrotechnics.
