The Gate, the Fruit, and the Foundation: Matthew 7 and the Question Every Soul Must Face

In Matthew 7, the Lord Jesus Christ gives some of the most sobering words in all of Scripture. He warns of a broad way that leads to destruction, false prophets in sheep’s clothing, trees known by their fruit, people who say “Lord, Lord” yet remain unknown by Him, and houses that collapse when the storm comes.
The Gate, the Fruit, and the Foundation is written to help professing Christians examine whether their hope rests in Christ Himself—or merely in religious words, memories, activity, and assumptions. This book is not intended to drive sincere believers into despair, but to disturb false peace while there is still mercy.
With pastoral seriousness and gospel hope, Steven J. Fountain walks through Matthew 7 and calls the reader to consider the gate that must be entered, the fruit that must be real, and the foundation that must be Christ alone.
The warning is mercy while the door remains open.
Come to Christ. Rest in Christ. Build upon the rock.
