About the Author

Toby Johnson is author of some nine books, all of which present in various and different ways the insights into the nature of religon and spirituality he learned from his teacher, Joseph Campbell.

A former psychotherapist, AIDS educator, community organizer, and gay bookstore owner--with his partner since 1984, Kip Dollar--Johnson is author of novels like Secret Matter and Two Spirits: A Novel About Life With the Navajo in collaboration with Walter L. Williams.

Johnson, only half jokingly, calls himself "Joseph Campbell's apostle to the gay community."

Johnson and Dollar were the first male couple registered as Doemstic Partners in Texas.
