You are the One

You Are the One is a heartfelt and empowering children's book that invites young readers and their families into a journey of empathy, inclusion, and hope. Created by Di Gee, a lifelong educator, artist, and songwriter, this story was written to accompany her original Di Gee Dreaming song-a gentle anthem of kindness and cultural unity.

This inspiring picture book encourages children to explore important values: standing up against bullying, embracing diversity, and choosing compassion, even in the face of difficulty. Through the eyes of a child, readers witness how simple acts of love and understanding can transform relationships and build bridges between communities.

More than a traditional storybook, You Are the One serves as a teaching tool for parents, educators, and carers seeking to nurture empathy and emotional intelligence in children. It's designed to be read aloud and shared. The book opens conversations about fairness, difference, friendship, and the courage to choose kindness.

At the end of the story, readers are invited to experience the song that inspired the book. A QR code links to a beautifully produced animated version of The Dreaming Song, creating a multi-sensory learning experience that allows children to connect emotionally with the story's message through music.

Ideal for primary-aged children, the text is written in a clear and engaging style. Younger children, such as toddlers and preschoolers, will also connect with the lyrical nature of the storytelling. For these readers, parents can simply read the lyrics aloud and share the song together, using it as a calming bedtime or group listening activity.

You Are the One is more than a book-it's a movement for unity. It delivers a timely and compassionate message: that every child, no matter who they are or where they come from, has the power to shape a kinder world. Perfect for schools, libraries, families, and community groups, it is a valuable resource for teaching the next generation how to live with heart, courage, and respect for all.
