Original four color lithograph by Max Ernst and original two color collage by Hans Arp with tissue guards laid in at front between black pages. Illustrated with two tipped in b/w reproduction of Hans Arp woodcuts and nine b/w reproductions of Max Ernst drawings. The first poem by Hans Arp, in keeping with publication theme, is reproduced on opposite page in mirror writing. Volume includes poetry by Hans Arp, Paul Eluard (in French) and a text by Max Ernst, an edited version of his 1936 text "Jenseits der Malerei (Beyond Painting)." Last two double leafs separated.
