Synopsis
Generation Y — also known as the Millennial Generation and (in part) the Me Generation — has emerged from their high schools and colleges (sometimes even from their parents’ basements). They have been recognized as an economic and talent tidal wave that can no longer be ignored. Today’s hyper-connected and highly competitive world requires people and businesses to adapt or die; stay relevant, or be ignored with a degree of flexibility and prowess that the Millennial Generation excels at. The old rules of business, human resources, and marketing have been shattered by this generation that demands to be heard. This book will guide you on a humorous journey, filled with strategies and techniques, which show you how to work with, market to, and harness the talents of the largest generation alive today. The Gen Y Business Guide delivers a powerful, yet humorous, message from the point of view of Generation Y professional and entrepreneur Kal Wanasek. He shares critical information needed to anticipate change, how to leverage it, and how businesses and organizations must understand how multiple generations working together will mean the difference between success and failure.
About the Author
Born and raised in Wisconsin, I still live here today with my wife, Jenna, and our two dogs, Bailey and Toby. For college, a detour west settled me in California at the University of the Pacific in Stockton for my undergraduate degree in Finance. It was definitely the best time of my life. Being a fraternity brother of Pi Kappa Alpha during that time shaped my character and directed me to the path that I’m on today. Back in Wisconsin after completing my undergraduate degree, I attended Concordia University, earning my Master of Finance degree. I currently work as a Business Analyst and enjoy the challenges that come with it. Music has been my life’s true passion, and if I am not listening to it, I am making music with my friends. Enjoying all kinds of music brings richness into my life. Playing the guitar and piano relaxes me after a long day, and there is always new music to compose. Knowledge has always been my pursuit. So, if new endeavors don’t teach me something new, I am not interested. Teaching others, who are willing to listen, what I have learned is another of my passions. And as an entertainer at heart, I’m always looking to make life more interesting. Being a believer in hard work, dedication, and accountability for the choices you make is why I think people shouldn’t take life too seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway! Never forget to have fun once in a while. Life isn’t always about the race. To book Kal Wanasek for a speaking event or to learn more about Kal, please visit www.kalwanasek.com
