Halford and Leonard (both sociology and social policy, U. of Southampton) demonstrate the range of ways gender can be seen to be an integral part of organizational life. They explore the structures and processes of organizations to show how gender is performed, maintained, and reproduced in corporations and institutions. Drawing on the extensive research findings, they conclude that divisions and inequalities remain as significant aspect of work in spite of high profile women who attain leadership positions.
