Gender at Work: Organizational Change for Equality

This book presents an analysis of the institutional barriers to gender equality. It describes how to uncover the hidden values and cultures - the deep structure - in order to stimulate and entrench new, gender-equitable ways of working. It lays out strategies and approaches for transforming organizations into cultures expressing gender equity and describes how these approaches have been applied in five separate interventions.

"For those of us whose work focuses on the challenge of transforming gender relations, this volume provides illuminating insights into how the process of change occurs. In-depth examples from diverse organizations and countries raise new questions about how we advocate for gender-responsive policies and practices. Critical reading for policy-makers, program managers and change agents worldwide." Noeleen Heyzer Executive Director, UNIFEM
