This paper appears in NATURE, vol 45 no. 1173, 21 April 1892, pp 577-600, with the Pernter on pp 593-595. This is the full weekly issue, extracted from a larger bound volume. Offered with the scarce outer wrappers, including 7pp of advertisements. Josef Maria Pernter (1848-1909) was professor of meteorology and geodynamics in the University of Vienna, and director of the Austrian Zentralanstalt for those sciences.
