First edition. 8vo; vi, 676pp; brown calf with gilt stamped black label to spine; foxed; wear to cover, front cover split at gutter but holding; lacking free front end paper; collated, the gathering of pages from 409-416 is inserted after p424 but all pages are present just misbound; front hinge split, holding but fragile, pencil doodles to front paste down, worm hole to a few pages on bottom edge; good. A detailed history of New England as told by American clergyman and historian, Rev. William Hubbard of Ipswich (1621-1704). Published posthumously by the Massachusetts Historical Society.
