Bewick was the author of natural history works, including 'A History of British Birds', and an engraver. He was apprenticed and eventually became the partner to Ralph Beilby, who supplied the text of this work. Rebound in half calf, with cloth covered boards. Endpapers renewed. Significant rubbing to back strip, with small losses of calf. Rear board detached. Front board weakly held by a single cord only. Internally, firmly bound. Pages bright, with spotting and instances of spotting throughout, most concentrated to page perimeters. Restorations to final leaf. Good Only.
