About the Author
Richard J. Stillman is professor of management emeritus, University of New Orleans. He did his graduate studies at Harvard and Syracuse with a Ph.D. from the latter. He appears frequently in the press and on radio and T.V. to discuss management, military and personal finance topics. Stillman was featured in a two-hour A&E biography entitled Patton: A Genius of War. His entertaining and informative talks about Patton, particularly his impersonation, have made him a sought-after speaker about the General. During World War II, Dr. Stillman was on General Patton's staff and had an opportunity to observe at firsthand the General's leadership. As Secretary of the General Staff (Headquarters, Third Army) at the end of World War II, he had an office next door to General Patton. Sillman applied Patton's concepts in managing his own life including four successful careers as a soldier, teacher, writer and entrepreneur. His military decorations include: The Legion of Merit, The Bronze Star, The Luxembourg Order of the Crown, and the Paratrooper Badge.
