Map. Lithograph. 31 1/2" x 39 1/2". Three small splits along original folds but otherwise in good condition. Unusual map of the Village of Niagara Falls. Centered on Goat Island. Goat Island is a small island in the Niagara River, in the middle of Niagara Falls between the Bridal Veil Falls and the Horseshoe Falls. The island is at the southwest corner of the City of Niagara Falls, New York, in the United States and is part of Niagara Falls State Park. It was created by the renowned Landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903) who also designed some of the most famous parks in the United States, including Central Park in New York City and Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. A wonderful rarity.
