Originally published in 1833 by James Ridgway, this reprint was issued without the images present in the first and looks similar to the 1833 edition by Key & Biddle, viewable on google books. Rare work. 3 copies of the Ridgway edition in worldcat, none of this edition. Fairholme was a critic of Charles Lyell and the new theories of geology because they were in his view inconsistent with scripture and scientific fact. He was a proponent of young earth creationism and of the biblical flood being responsible for the current geology of the earth.
