An eclectic selection of 19th and 20th century titles with an emphasis on history, literature, biography and poetry. Lots of signed first editions including collections of Thomas Berger, John Hersey, Robert Penn Warren, Jerre Mangione, John A. Williams and more.
John A. Wiliams (1925 -21015) was perhaps the finest African-American novelist of his generation. Peter Dzwonkoski worked for several years under famed bibliographer & archivist Donald Gallup at Yale's Beinecke Library, then become Director of Rare Books & Special Collections at the University of Rochester. Over decades, he befriended many writers, oversaw exhibitions, published essys on books & book collecting, deleighted in book-talk. I am pleased to offer some books from that collection. These are titles from American journalist and novelist John A. Williams, author of The Angry Ones (1960) and The Man Who Cried I Am (1967).
