A clean, tight copy of this charming book. It is impossible to state with certainty the date of publication, since the only information given relates to the book's first publisher, D, Appleton Century Co. , but this does have that vintage Thirties look. The book itself is quite pleasing, with some fading to the boards, but no inscriptions or signs of use. The binding is tight, and the paper has held up wonderfully well, with no foxing, toning or deterioration. When you start with good paper, that is what you get. The jacket is also attractive. There is some chipping, but the cover art is intact, and the back gives a list of 20 titles in the series Juveniles of Distinction: books for girls. A mylar Brodart cover now protects it.
