The Gentle Path

The Gentle Path is a clear, compassionate guide for massage therapists who serve older adults, a population whose needs are as diverse as their life stories. Drawing from decades of clinical experience, this book offers practical techniques, thoughtful adaptations, and a deeply human approach to touch that honors the dignity, vulnerability, and resilience of aging bodies.

Readers will find evidence-informed guidance on age-related changes, chronic conditions, communication strategies, ethical considerations, and the emotional landscape of later life. More importantly, they will discover how to create moments of comfort, connection, and safety for clients who often need it most.

Written with humility and grounded in real-world practice, The Gentle Path invites therapists to slow down, listen deeply, and approach each session with presence and respect. It is both a technical resource and a reminder that skilled, intentional touch can profoundly improve quality of life, one gentle moment at a time.
