Dedic� sus libros a describir diferentes zonas y lo hizo seg�n pautas cient�ficas, pero a�adiendo al relato otros muchos datos hist�ricos y culturales. Es el caso de su tercer libro, dedicado a la pen�nsula Ib�rica, que es una fuente necesaria para conocer el pasado del territorio.

About the Author

Estrab�n (c. 64 a.C. – c. 24 d.C.) es, junto con Tolomeo, el m�s importante ge�grafo de la antigua Grecia. Nacido en Amasia (Ponto), en el seno de una familia acomodada, pudo permitirse una educaci�n esmerada y viajar por diferentes zonas de Europa, Egipto y Asia Menor hasta llegar a Armenia. Como historiador, escribi� una obra perdida, pero es sobre todo conocido por Geograf�a, una descripci�n detallada del mundo conocido, que reun�a tambi�n datos hist�ricos y etnogr�ficos de cada zona.
