A rare copy of this early geographical work, featuring beautifully illustrated maps throughout. With thirteen engraved plates of views, including a frontispiece and thirteen folding maps. Maps are by 18th century geographer J. Bayly, who also created the singularly published maps, a new map of Poland, a new map of the West Indies, and a new world map. Volume two of the original two, focusing on Europe and the European islands. In contemporary calf binding. Externally, somewhat rubbed with wear to the boards and extremities. Shelfwear to the head and tail of spine. Front board is held by the cords only and rear joint is starting. Copperplate ink inscriptions to the endpapers. Internally, generally firmly bound, aside from the first few leaves working loose. Bright and clean throughout, aside from the odd handling mark. Good.…
