Composite collection of papers from apparently early editions of Miller's works in bespoke binding in faux red half leather with marbled endpapers. Date of binding uncertain but not recent. Gilt titling on spine reads "Geological Papers". Frontis of fern from coal measures (from Testimony of the Rocks) and contents apparently from an early edition of "The Old Red Sandstone" listed as seen on scans and including ancient greywacke rocks of Scotland, Red Sandstone, marble and quartz deposits of Assynt, Corals of the Oolitic system and Fossiliferous deposits of Scotland. Papers run from p.303-427 followed by "Testimony of the Rocks" paginated p.33 to 140 and p.429-502 containing Lectures 1 & 2 and 11 from "Testimony of the Rocks".
