8vo. Original marbled wrappers, worn at extremities, corners at upper corner turned. 97 pp., long (20x250 cm.) colored folding plan of elevations. Featherstonhaugh was the first Geologist to the US Government. He surveyed parts of the Louisiana purchase, early Railroad routes, and was a witness to the removal of the Cherokees from what is now Tennessee.
