Georges Roesch & The Invincible Talbot

A classic of  motoring marque history. A massive 496 page study of the Talbot from 1926 to 1935 when designer Georges Roesch brought his finely honed his design expertise to the near bankrupt concern and not only saved it from going under but turned it into one of the prime sporting marqiues of the post-Wall-Street-Crash era. During this time the works and privateer cars exercised a domination in the Alpine Trials and achieved great success in major motor racing events at home (Brooklands) and in Europe. The race reporting in this book is said to be among the most evocative and well written anywhere and the authors technical 'handle' on the road cars and their design in unsurpassed.Book in good condition,one or two marks on the cover cloth and some wear to the edged of the jacket  at the top of the spine etc. with a bit of creasing across the top/back edge.
