This volume describes German military rifles of 11 mm calibre. Their common feature was that they fired cartridges with metal cases and black powder as their propellant. In Germany, it was Bavaria that was at the forefront of this development, with the M/69 rifle, also known as the Werder rifle. The reader will discover how this weapon was developed, produced and used, the problems which arose, how they were solved and how the rifle was finally taken out of service. Naturally all the variations, the accessories and the ammunition are also described in detail and shown in photographs. The M/71 and M/71.84 rifles are dealt with in the same way and for the first time the Chassepot rifles used in the German Imperial Army are comprehensively presented. The time frame extends to the end of the First World War, since many black powder weapons were still used, mainly for training purposes, up to 1918. This book also covers the weapons of the police and Gendarmerie, so readers interested in the history of Germany’s police force will also find much new information. 10 X 12 inches, hardcover with dust jacket with dust jacket, 392 pages.…

Store description
"Gun Books, and other titles for those who value freedom" We're a small family run firearm reference publishing company, and retailer. You can expect good old fashioned customer service and packaging that is second to none. G.S.B. stands for Gun Show Books, and that's how we started well over 30 years ago. First we sold at Gun Shows, then (before the internet came along) we started selling mail order firearm reference by catalog. In 1998 we launched our first independent web-site. Today we no longer go to gun shows but instead sell mail-order only through our two websites, and all the other venues like eBay, Amazon, and Abebooks. We're fairly knowledgeable about the books we sell, and firearms in general. You can email us with questions about our books, and though we can't guarantee we'll have an answer for you, we can guarantee you'll get a response, and your orders will always be filled promptly and get the personal attention that everyone deserves. Best Regards Bruce & Lori Rukstales G.S.B. Publishing…

Shipping terms
We are proud to say we package "bulletproof" - you won't find a vendor who packages better than us! Our books are tightly wrapped first in a plastic bag for moisture protection, and then in a box, never an envelope. We provide sufficient cushioning to protect the collectibility of our products.
We think you will find our shipping rates to be reasonable and fair, especially as compared to other vendors.
We do our best to package and ship your order within 24 hours of ordering, except for U.S. Postal holidays and Sundays. The estimated arrival date is an estimate, not a guarantee, of when your package will arrive and it can be affected by a number of factors including time of day your order was placed, time of day your order was packaged, whether there are unswered communications about your order, how busy the post office is due to manpower shortages or holiday shipping, to name a few.
Please email us with any questions you may have about our shipping policies.
