About the Author

KIM DOWNING is a certified professional trainer, a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT) and the German Shepherd Club of America, and a former service dog trainer. Along with being a freelance writer specializing in dogs and training, she also teaches dog training classes to both groups and individuals. Kim currently lives in Tonganoxie, Kansas, with several German Shepherds, whom she trains in obedience, rally, and agility.
