Gesture in the Compositional Process: Musical composition, musical imagery, timbre, and the performer's gesture in the conception of experimental music

This book discusses physical gestures and movements of performers as the main tool for instrumental musical composition. It also highlights the main relationships between this phenomenon and musical imagery and its role in communication between musicians and listeners. Excerpts from scores by Iancu Dumitrescu and Janis Christou were used as theoretical support, highlighting similarities between these compositional processes and relating them to my own creative processes.
