About the Author
Dr. Kevin Fall is an award-winning speaker, author, psychologist, and leading expert in human connectedness. He received his PhD from the University of Iowa in psychology and spent years working with some of the most hardened and dangerous individuals with histories of violence and severe mental illness. Today Dr. Fall specializes in helping parents and their young-adult sons overcome the barriers that prevent them from truly connecting and discovering a deeper, more meaningful relationship.
Prior to becoming a psychologist, Dr. Fall was an information technology consultant specializing in managing outsourcing engagements and large-scale projects with various Fortune-500 companies. He was also licensed as a certified public accountant in the state of Texas. Despite a successful career, he found his work unfulfilling. As he progressed in his own introspective journey of personal growth, he began helping others and consequently discovered his purpose in life. As his discontentment with his career grew, it soon became too much to ignore, and Dr. Fall walked away from it to pursue his calling as a psychologist dedicated to helping others live happier, healthier, more fulfilling lives.
At a young age, Austin Fall was left internally broken and without direction as a result of his parents’ painful divorce. By the time he reached his teen years, he’d disconnected from his parents and turned to a destructive lifestyle of violence and heavy drinking to mask his pain and compensate for low self-esteem. As Austin’s behavior continued to deteriorate, he dropped out of high school, was convicted of several felonies, and found himself at a dead end. At the point where he considered suicide his only alternative, he decided to ask for help.
For the next six years, Austin lived and worked with his dad to reengineer his life. Today he is a college graduate with a clean legal record, a loving father, and a thriving professional whose purpose is to help parents reconnect with and inspire their troubled teens to reach their full potential. Austin brings a unique and valuable perspective as he consults with parents trying desperately to reach their teens and repair their relationships.
