Going on a short-term mission trip can be thrilling, stretching and scary. To help you and your church mission team be prepared spiritually, Melissa Heiland of Beautiful Feet International and IMB have partnered to create a 31-day devotional for short-term missions partners. You will be able to relate to personal stories of others who have traveled overseas with teams to share the gospel with a lost world. Each devotion begins with a suggested Scripture passage to review, a devotional story and a prayer. Melissa brings her own personal experience as a former missionary and current short-term mission team leader within each daily reflection. A helpful timeline of things your team needs to do before departure is included in the index. This booklet is the perfect tool for your short-term team to read the month preceding your mission trip!

Melissa Heiland is wife to Ken and mother of six children. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education and has home-schooled and taught in Christian and public schools. She served as a full-time missionary with IMB and has led volunteer mission teams since 1999. She is the founder of Beautiful Feet International, an evangelical mission organization that helps churches plan and prepare for short-term missions. She is also active at a local crisis pregnancy center where she is director of client services. Her passion is telling others of the love of Christ here at home and around the world. Beautiful Feet was born out of a Southern Baptist church in central Florida. It exists to recruit, encourage, train and mobilize volunteers with the Gospel of Christ to the world. The organization also helps local churches organize and implement trips specialized to skills, desires and calling. Melissa and Ken work closely with IMB as well as other evangelical mission agencies. To learn more, visit their website at www.beautifulfeetinternational.net.
