Get Weird: Make The Most Of Your Life

This award winning book is written as a conversation--questions and answers, back and forth between two central characters who are brothers trying to heal their relationship. One of the reasons this format is helpful is because the book teaches us a new way to communicate by allowing us to listen in on this very personal conversation.

The story between the brothers is tender, honest, vulnerable and funny at times. It is an easy read with many profound lessons. It teaches us a unique way to communicate--so that we stay present and open minded, which eliminates tension and conflict.

This book also provides fascinating strategies to help us if we feel overwhelmed, conflcited, or depressed.

This book shows us a new way to speak to ourselves and other people. It is like a mindfulness practice we can use every time we speak, and by doing so we center ourselves, empower ourselves, and create clear boundaries.

Jake Eagle was a licensed psychotherapist in private practice for twenty-five years. In addition to being an award winning author, in the 1990's he was one of the first people to introduce Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) to audiences in Japan. Early in his career he focused on brief therapy, but over time his emphasis shifted and his work focused more on existential issues-helping people find meaning and purpose, reduce anxiety associated with being alone and living in an uncertain world.

In 2017, Jake and his wife, Hannah, moved from Santa Fe, NM, to the Big Island of Hawaii where they now reside. They continue to offer retreats for individuals, couples, and small groups at beautiful locations around the world.
