Greyfriars Books (GfB) specialises in good literature, the arts, history, philosophy, science and local interest titles. Our Colchester Bookshop occupies three floors of one of the city centre's most recognisable buildings: the original Great Hall of Tymperleys. Drop in for a browse, be amazed by our quirky rooms and staircases, and wonder at the surviving medieval hall roof of the Colchester home of William Gilberd (1544-1603), physician to Elizabeth I and one of the world's greatest early scientists. .....................................................................
