The Gibraltar Protocol

The Gibraltar Protocol: A Daniel Warren Thriller

When a cyber-terrorist known only as "Spider" threatens to destroy the world's financial system, Foreign Office operative Daniel Warren is thrust into a deadly game of digital cat and mouse. From the corridors of Whitehall to the dangerous cartels of Mexico, Warren must navigate a web of deception that spans continents and cuts to the heart of global power.

As governments prepare to launch Veritian, a revolutionary digital currency that could reshape the world economy, Warren discovers that Spider has planted a devastating "egg" deep within the system's code-one that could collapse entire nations with the stroke of a key. Racing against time with brilliant cybersecurity expert Nikita Cowling, Warren follows a trail of encrypted clues from the warehouses of Tulum to the elite circles of Caracas, where nothing is as it seems and everyone has something to hide.

But Spider isn't just any hacker-he's a ghost with a personal vendetta that runs deeper than mere financial terrorism. When the hunt turns deadly and Warren loses someone close to him, the mission becomes personal. From the gaming servers where virtual teammates wage digital war to the sun-soaked heights of the Rock of Gibraltar, Warren must confront an enemy who knows him better than he knows himself.

Part cyberthriller, part espionage adventure, The Gibraltar Protocol explores our world's dangerous dependence on digital systems and asks: in an age where money is just code, who really holds the power? Perfect for fans of John le Carré, Frederick Forsyth, and Daniel Silva.

ABOUT THE AUTHORAfter thirty-five years in advertising, working at agencies including J. Walter Thompson and Havas, Pedro is now Executive Chairman of Bicycle London. Born in Spain to a Spanish mother and raised in South East London, he regularly travels between Gibraltar, Bilbao, and Estepona - locations that feature prominently in his debut thriller. His inspiration for writing came from an unlikely source: boredom on a sun lounger in Torreguadiaro, combined with deep reflection on the hardships faced by those attempting to cross the Gibraltar Strait. Having witnessed a major European cryptocurrency collapse first-hand and worked with Ukrainian gaming companies, he drew on these experiences to craft the digital conspiracy at the heart of his novel.A trustee of Demelza Hospice and member of London Writers' Forum, Pedro is passionate about proving that dyslexics who struggled with English can write compelling fiction. He credits Paul Theroux with inspiring his love of reading during his late teens on the train to Charing Cross, which eventually led to his own storytelling. When not writing or running his agency, he enjoys travelling and photography. He attended London Business School at forty-five to reignite his creativity, proving it's never too late to learn something new - including, apparently, novel writing. This is his first novel.
