Some gifts remain hidden until they're raised by the dead.

Morris Kent has a noose hanging in his hallway and a plan to use it.

He's a postman, a drunk, and by his own reckoning, a spectacular failure. His wife left. His daughter barely calls. His boss can't stand him. The only person who gives a damn is Gloria, his relentlessly cheerful colleague who talks to the dead.

Then a letter turns up—decades old, never delivered—but wants to be. It refuses to be destroyed. Morris sets out from his small, sleepy English town to deliver it. But dark forces are unleashed, hell-bent on stopping the letter from falling into its rightful hands.

Morris is drawn into a world he can't explain. It turns out Gloria isn't the only one who can see things that shouldn't be there.
