About the Author

Author Linda Hachfeld, MPH, RD credits the inspiration to write this book from the many requests she received as to what to serve for buffets, entertaining and gifts that wouldnt be high in calories, fat, sugar, or salt. Recipes such as Party Punch, Onion Bread Twists, Whole Wheat-Orange Monkey Bread, and Cookie Cut Outs have all been served as buffet offerings at graduation parties, open houses and confirmation celebrations at Lindas home. Friendship Bean Soup and recipe along with a batch of Chocolate Crinkle Cookies are the common gifts that go in a basket to new neighbors on the block. Ms Hachfeld is a registered dietitian who has served the profession of dietetics in clinical, administrative and research capacities. She is the recipient of the Woman of Achievement Award by the YWCA, the Minnesota Women in Business Advocate Award by the SBA, and the Outstanding Alumna for the Dept of Family Consumer Science at Minnesota State University-Mankato.
