In the swamp lives a fat and sassy frog named Gilbert de la Frogponde. Gilbert spends his days catching flies and lazily dozing on the dock until one day, two gourmet chefs arrive at the pond in search of dinner. Too fat to outrun them, Gilbert must outsmart them by convincing them that bugs, not frogs, are all the rage in the most stylish restaurants. Only Gilbert de la Frogponde could possibly talk himself out of such a jam!

A nattive of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jennifer Rae works in Toronto's publishing business. This is her first book. Like Gilbert, Rae eats a lot and can't swim. Except for when bicycling, she's never knowingly eaten a bug, but says that she wouldn't rule it out in the future.

Rose Cowles is an award-winning illustrator and graphic designer. She earned two awards from Studio Magazine for Excellence in Creativity for Illustrations. Cowles adores animals, especially frogs, and they are often the inspirationfor her illustrations. She lives in Victoria, British Columbia.
