At first, no one believed mankind had 30 days to save itself from extinction. Why would they? The circumstances of the threat were absurd.
THE THREAT: A high school and park in a crowded area of LA vanish overnight. In their place, a mysterious Victorian mansion stands alone in an expanse of tall grass. A handwritten notice beside the front door proclaims the site is under the protection of extraterrestrials and Earth has 30 days to solve a childish riddle or perish.
Police try to break in. Everything inside a 1/8 mile square around the house disintegrates in clouds of swirling matter. A second attempt doubles the area of devastation.
Meanwhile, a clandestine group of government officials sheepishly advise the President that we’ve known about aliens visiting Earth for decades and the mysterious house cloaks the presence of a UFO. Dismayed, the President agrees the truth will disrupt world order and does everything possible to continue the cover-up by trying to destroy the aliens.

THE ALIEN: A female humanoid, uniquely enhanced by cybernetics to protect the territory of space where Earth resides, serves a god-like race of aliens responsible for the threat. She surprises her masters by insisting they call it off. They explain that it is a test, part of an eons-old experiment, and can’t be altered. She shocks them by demanding they allow her to help mankind pass.
To preserve her loyalty, they agree, but impose impossible restrictions, thinking she will stop interfering. They are wrong.
Outrageously overconfident, the woman arrives on Earth aboard the automated test ship with three subordinates who think it is a useless mission with no chance of success, especially since their leader seems to have no idea what to do.

Haunted by memories of unspeakable horrors in her past, she is a brilliant tactician, strategist, and soldier one moment; an immature, petulant jerk the next.
