Incorporates the entire corpus from 1905 to 1915 of two photographers who travelled the American Southwest capturing such images as Zuni Indians drilling turquoise; Jicarilla Apaches wearing eagle feather headdresses; cowboys in the territorial town of Tierra Amarilla, New Mexico; a Navajo medicine man, and other sights. Also included is an essay that chronicles the photographers' lives and a journal that details a woman's view of travelling the West during the same time period. About the Author

H. Jackson Clark was a third-generation native of Durango, Colorado. A well-known Indian trader and expert on Navajo weaving, jewelry, and legends, he lectured extensively on the history of the southwest. He died in July of 1997, before he could see this project come to fruition.
