Since it's founding by St. Kevin in the sixth century, the ecclesiastical settlement at Glendalough, Ireland flourished as a center of learning and pilgrimage. About the Author
George McClafferty grew up in Bray, Co Wicklow. He studied Archaeology and Irish Folklore at University College Dublin and Anthropology at the University of Santiago de Compostela in Spain. He has been manager of the Glendalough visitor Centre since it opened in 1987.
