John Boli is Professor of Sociology at Emory University, USA.  He has published extensively on world culture, global organizations, state authority, and education.  He is the co-author with Frank J. Lechner of World Culture: Origins and Consequences (Wiley Blackwell, 2005) and co-author of Constructing World Culture: International Nongovernmental Organizations Since 1875 (1999), and Institutional Structure: Constituting State, Society and the Individual (1987).
