Glory in Our Midst

Micheal Perham, Bishop of Gloucester, is well known for his many reflective and liturgical publications, which have inspired, challenged, strengthened and nourished many on their spiritual journeys. He writes: For me the weeks from Advent to Candlemas are full of delight. The biblical stories they recall are full of fascination, the liturgy of the seasons is rich and many-layered and the theological truths about the one whose glory is in our midst are exciting to share. Good news always needs to be proclaimed. Glory in Our Midst treats the period from the beginning of Advent to the very end of Christmas and Epiphany a single unit. Michael Perham explores how, gradually, the meaning of Christ's coming is revealed and behind that unfolding, how key elements emerge in the Christian understanding of God himself.

Michael Perham is Bishop of Gloucester. He was for many years a member of the Liturgical Commission, and a key architect of Common Worship. His publications for SPCK include New Handbook of Pastoral Liturgy (28,000 copies sold) and Signs of Your Kingdom. He is a Trustee of SPCK.
