About the Author

Roselle Tekiner (1921-) grew up in Chicago and lived her adult life in New York and Florida. She received academic degrees in Political Science (BA, University of Chicago, 1943) and Anthropology (MA, Columbia University, 1966; Ph.D., Graduate Center, City University of New York), and taught at Hunter College, Fairleigh Dickinson University, New College of the University of South Florida, and Eckerd College. Her published work spans the fields of physical anthropology, archaeology, and cultural anthropology. Her writing in her later career focused on issues of religion and nationality surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
