Go Your Own Way

For every woman out there who’s dreamed of walking the Camino . . .

Has traveling the Camino de Santiago been on your bucket list for years, but you keep finding reasons why now isn’t quite the right time? Does the transformative potential of the journey call to something deep inside you, but every time you consider answering that call your inner naysayers pipe up, telling you that such an endeavor is too expensive or physically taxing or—perish the thought—too selfish to undertake? Or are you just plain scared to do it alone?

If any of this sounds familiar, professional organizer Andrea Wait is the voice of reason (and encouragement!) you’ve been waiting for. As someone who has faced all these self-invented obstacles herself, she’s here to tell you to stop listening to those negative voices, seize the day, and commit now to this life-changing experience. With specific tips on what and how to pack, advice on how to prepare physically for the journey, a suggested itinerary for the entirety of the French Way, and tons of inspiring words to motivate you when the going gets tough—both before and during your walk—Go Your Own Way is the friendly nudge you need to stop postponing and to start planning.

Walking the Camino isn’t easy. But it is worth it. And with Andrea holding your hand through planning every aspect of the journey, you’ll be up to the task of pushing through the fears holding you back—and more than equipped to do it all your way.

For the past fifteen years, Andrea Wait has been assisting people in organizing their homes, which in turn helps them organize their lives. Through her experience, she's learned one fundamental truth: letting go of things that no longer serve you creates space for what does. "Home in Harmony" marks the first of three books she's written over the past three years, a period influenced by the pandemic. Her latest release, "Go Your Own Way: a Practical Guide for Women Walking the Camino," reflects her philosophy of letting go, a principle she embraced when she undertook the transformative journey of the Camino de Santiago. Currently, Andrea is working on her memoir, detailing her experience of being diagnosed with cancer during the pandemic. She shifted her perspective, refusing to let cancer define her life and instead embracing every moment to its fullest-an attitude she adopted by letting go of fear. She hopes to release her book by her 60th birthday in May, 2025. When she's not writing or planning adventures, Andrea enjoys walking with her husband through the streets of San Francisco or discovering the many wonders of Northern California.
