Goals for Mankind : A Report to the Club of Rome

First Published in 1977, Goals for Mankind presents a comprehensive world Atlas of contemporary goals both for individuals and societies. Part I surveys the current goals and aspirations of the world community. Part II considers the best of the long-term international policies which, if achieved, could bring about a safer and more humane world. Part III looks at the ways in which people can work towards those policies and so transform the values of international exchange.

Aurelio Peccei and Alexander King end their Introduction: ‘A change from self-centered and short-term goals to mankind-centered and long-term ones is in the interest of all people. To work for such a change has become a moral imperative for all who are concerned with the future of humanity.’ This book is an important historical reference work for not just students of philosophy but for general readers interested in global solidarity and goals for mankind.
