God Chose a Woman First: Discover the Keys to Resilient Confidence through the Voices of Biblical Women

Lead with Bold Faith and Confidence through the Empowering Stories of Biblical Women

As a woman desiring to be all God created you to be, you know that when you are faced with a task or vocation much bigger than you, you need a trustworthy source for empowering confidence. God Chose a Woman First will ignite you with the biblical truth you need to move forward with Spirit-empowered resilient confidence.

Each of the 13 women in God Chose a Woman First was chosen by God--instead of a man--to be the first person in Scripture to experience God in a new way, to express a new truth about God, or to proclaim a new message from God.

Award-winning author and teacher Dr. Laura Savage-Rains retells the stories of these 13 women, who come to life alongside other world history events. With more than 30 years of ministry, leadership, and speaking/teaching experience, Savage-Rains reveals often-overlooked biblical truths to help today's woman see herself in Scripture.

Practical Keys to Resilient Confidence

The author provides more than 50 practical keys to resilient confidence, such as:

From the story of Hannah: Make plans for a hope only God can fulfill.
From the story of Huldah: See the purpose in your message beyond your need for recognition.
From the story of Mary Magdalene: Determine to obey anything Jesus asks you to do, regardless of the risks or obstacles.

Biblical Truths often Overlooked from the Stories of Biblical Women

The author succinctly lists powerful truths taught through these women's stories, such as:

1. God communicates directly to and through women.
2. God chose a woman's voice to be the first to announce the Resurrection--the most important news in history.
3. God chooses women to lead Christian church movements, to advise God's servants, and to begin to change cultures.

World History in Relation to Biblical Events

The author creatively presents secular world history alongside biblical women's lives, such as:

Before Deborah was a judge in Israel, Egypt built the pyramids and the Sphinx, had two women pharaohs, and had the world's first female doctor.
Before the woman prophet Huldah was advisor to King Josiah, Hinduism developed in India, the first Olympic Games were held, and the Iliad and the Odyssey were written.
Before Elizabeth was a mentor to a young Mary, the Mayans in Central America developed an accurate calendar based on astronomy, and Native Americans were trading with other tribes spread from the Great Lakes to the Gulf of Mexico.

Hear afresh the voices of Eve, Hagar, Miriam, Deborah, Hannah, Huldah, Elizabeth, Mary of Nazareth, Anna, the Samaritan Woman, Martha, Mary Magdalene, and Lydia. As our world spirals with continued consequences of women being treated as less than, these real women will teach you how to exhibit faithfulness, wisdom, courage, and leadership against the odds.

Be empowered! God highly values women's voices, women's abilities, and women's bodies!
