God and Intelligence in Modern Philosophy. This item is unavailable.God and Intelligence in Modern Philosophy

"God and Intelligence in Modern Philosophy" is a profound scholarly exploration into the intersection of theological reasoning and modern philosophical thought. This work provides a rigorous critical analysis of how various modern thinkers approach the concepts of God and human reason, setting these perspectives against the enduring wisdom of Saint Thomas Aquinas. The text examines the shift in intellectual history from the traditional Scholastic synthesis to the more fragmented and subjective approaches characteristic of modernism.

The book delves into the problem of knowledge and the nature of the divine, arguing that a return to Thomistic principles offers a more coherent and intellectually satisfying understanding of the relationship between faith and intelligence. Through a detailed comparison of contemporary systems-including pragmatism, idealism, and evolutionary philosophy-the study illustrates the challenges of modern thought while highlighting the perennial relevance of the "Philosophia Perennis." This work serves as an essential resource for those interested in philosophy, epistemology, and the history of ideas, offering a robust defense of objective truth and the capacity of the human mind to grasp the existence of a transcendent God.
