It was well after midnight when the 23 foot sailboat laden with four missionaries, a large tent, and a load of plantains departed on the Caribbean Sea for an island. The missionaries were praying, bailing water, and a couple of them were very seasick. All of a sudden one of them realizes that their boat cannot sink with a special someone on board... The God of Jacob! A shopping trip and a simple boarder crossing turn into a nightmare for two missionaries when they find themselves being charged with smuggling and tax evasion and thrown into a Mexican jail. Later they realize it was all part of God's bigger plan to answer many prayers and rescue souls. Find out how, against all odds, and with no help from our government, they are released. Peace comes that passes all understanding to the missionary and his family when their daughter is killed in a head-on collision by a drunk driver. The missionary is warned of a trap to rob and possibly kill him and those in the van with him. He also receives a warning of his pickup truck being set on fire. Three cars pass each other without a problem on a narrow one lane road. A truck load of airplane parts were given to a couple of missionaries who needed to repair their aircraft. Money came in on time to buy an engine for the missionary's speedboat needed to reach some of the villages. A bus was completely overhauled without any cost to the missionaries. A pickup truck carrying a load of people through a desolate part of Mexico at night lost all of the transmission fluid, but after prayer and a miracle, arrived safely at their destination and never again had that problem. About the Author
Samuel Hooper served as Pastor in Arkansas and Arizona eight years before going to Belize, where he labored thirty years without electricity, good roads, few churches and no promised support. Many churches were established and now send out missionaries. He resides in Lindale, Texas, and continues to minister.
