Synopsis
God, Is She Ready Yet? responds to Revelation 19:7 exploring the Bride of Christ, her readiness and how that relates to the Second Coming of Christ. Pastors and teachers are God’s Gift to the Church to equip and fit her for acts of service. While many are looking for the signs of the times, another perspective is highlighted from Matthew 24, Ephesians 4, and Revelation 19, in which the question is not, “What is the sign or event that God is waiting for?”, but rather, “What is the Church waiting for?” In order to answer that question, we as members of the body of Christ and especially leaders should consider “What does the Bride of Christ look like now?”, “What will the Bride of Christ look like when Christ returns?”, and “How to we bridge the difference between the two?” Shuff takes a unique look at these questions by introducing the Wedding Party in The Marriage of the Lamb. The bride and groom are obvious, but no wedding party would be complete without the bridesmaids. In an ironic way, an article in the Jewish Journal by Abigail Green entitled “Here Comes the Bridesmaids” is paralleled to look at those in the Church that have been called to help make the Bride ready.
