Not dated but looks to be a nineteenth century binding with leather spine covering and corners over blue and gold marbled boards. This is from an apparently rare edition of Goethe's Works Introduction by F. H. Hedge. Translated by Miss Anna Swanwick. Volume II includes also Clavigo, Egmont, and The Wayward Lover. With engraved frontispiece and illustrations. Some cracks to the spine cover and wear to corners. Top half inch of spine cover is missing on volume II. Internally, the pages are clean, binding tight.
