About the Author
Barbara Fifer was a historian, editor, and writer in Helena, Montana. She majored in creative writing and comparative literature at Ohio University while working summers at a daily newspaper. She co-edited the Montana Historical Society's journal, Montana: The Magazine of Western History and edited and written innumerable magazine articles and books, including the following Farcountry titles: Wanted! Wanted Posters of the Old West; Montana Mining Ghost Towns; Montana Battlefields, 1806-1877; Going Along the Emigrant Trails; Going Along with Lewis & Clark; and the Lewis & Clark Expedition Illustrated Glossary.
