Shining Star! Shining Star! Have we really spent this much time promoting a fraud?

Warren Chadwick has just come off a major blow to his career. His allies have abandoned him after his errand boy was wrongfully arrested, and his reputation in his world of sea trading and “business” has been ruined. He’s out for revenge to set right what’s been wronged, and his sights are set on the city and the girl who ruined it all.

The future is bright for Padstow’s newest pirate-hunting captain. Emery Walker is only a few moves away from capturing the pirate who’s tormented her for most of her sailing career, but that’s just a wrinkle in the picture of her life. She has a family and friends who’ll stand by her side through anything, a reliable crew, a future with the man she loves, and the world at her fingertips.

But all of that is about to change.

The night of her next move to find and capture Warren, Emery finds herself trapped at the mercy of the men she’s dedicated her life to hunting. Against her will, and with her life and her reputation hanging in the balance, she accompanies Warren on a quest to find the judge who aided in his errand boy’s arrest and bring him to justice. The more Emery resists Warren’s actions, the more he works to tear down the image she’s spent her entire life building.

However, when new secrets are brought to light as they navigate the chaos and turmoil around them, the pair will learn that the ambition and pride they desperately cling to may ultimately lead to their downfall.
